The Medical Genetics course

In May 2017 the 30th edition of the main ESGM course (Medical Genetics) took place Bertinoro di Romagna with the new denomination “Clinical Genomics and NGS”.
It was attended by 89 students from 37 different countries from all over the world, in contrast to the 108 students from 16 countries (only European) who attended the first edition of the Medical Genetics course in 1988 (see the two figures below showing the breakdown of students attending these two courses).

This simple comparison shows that ESGM has been having a tremendous impact on the practice and research in human/medical genetics far beyond Europe.
The 2018 edition of the course “Clinical Genomics and NGS” was even more successful than the previous one (see below)

The 31stcourse in “Clinical Genomics and NGS” (Bertinoro April 30-May 4 1918) had 94
participants and 23 faculty from 33 countries.
