Course |
The course is intended for researchers directly involved in the statistical analysis of complex traits and disorders, and will primarily address the methods and applications of genetic association and linkage studies. It will consist of general lectures followed by hands-on computer-based workshops and more research-oriented seminars. It is an intermediate level course and some knowledge of genetics and statistics is a prerequisite. The topics covered are: Basic genetics, Basic statistics, Population genetics, Genetic epidemiology, Linkage analysis, Association studies - family based and population based, QTL linkage analysis and QTL association studies, Methods for multi-locus analysis, Genetic studies in isolated populations, Meta-analysis of genetic studies, Population based and prospective cohort studies. |
