THE CENTER
The center is located on the hills south of Bologna, 3.5 km away from the historical city center, in a modern building close to the ancient Ronzano Hermitage (XV sec.), where a small Community of the Ordine dei Servi di Maria resides.
The area is very panoramic and quiet, and the isolation and beauty of the place favor cultural and scientific retreats. The facility is particularly fit for didactic and training purposes thanks to its proximity to the city and its advanced computer and communication technologies.
The offered services result from the twenty year experience of the European School of Genetic Medicine, which holds here some of its courses organized by the European Genetics Foundation.
 
THE HALL
The Lecture Hall is furnished with 80 chairs and the Workshop Hall with 25 chairs. These two halls can be arranged in different ways and are equipped with a desk, a wall screen, a PC and a videoprojector.
The didactic structure is completede by a Computer Hall with 30 work stations connected to the internet.
 
TECHNOLOGY & CONNECTIVITY
The strength of the Center is a technology expressly developed for Distance Training.
Any event taking place in Ronzano can be broadcast live or recorded to any PC connected to the internet, thanks to the webcast platform developed by the European Genetics Foundation.
The Center has a broad band connection with a full duplex speed of 20 megabit. The facility is part of the Eumed Connect, Geant2 and Dante networks (high speed European Universities connectivity networks) and is monitored by CESIA (Center for the Development and Management of the University Computer Services) in terms of performance and security.
The Center is equipped with a wireless connectivity for all users, in addition to the Alma Wi-Fi connectivity, which allows the personnel and students of the Bologna University to connect directly through their personal account, without any further authorization.
 
SERVICES
large parking lot is available for our guests and a keeper lives at the Center.
The available optional services, to be quoted on demand, are:
• secretary assistance (for accounting, organization, logistics) before and/or during the event;
• technical assistance for projections, installation of specific software for didactic purposes, audio-video recordings, webcasting, etc.;
• shuttle to/from the historical city center of Bologna (timetable to be agreed on);
•  shuttle to/from the railway station and airport. 

ACCOMMODATION
Subject to prior agreement with the Ronzano Community of the Servants of Mary Fathers, guest quarters are available, with 23 rooms (1 single room and 22 two- or three-bed rooms) with bathrooms and wireless connection. Agreements can be made with nearby hotels or downtown hotels according to the guests’ wishes.

FOOD
Breakfast and coffee breaks can be booked in advance, to be served in the Center cafeteria. Agreements can be made with a catering for a light lunch, for macrobiotic food or other type of cuisine. For the evening we can suggest a list of affiliated restaurants and bars to taste the renowned Bolognese cuisine and experience the lively Bologna nightlife.

PRICES & DISCOUNTS
The price list is available on demand. If the promoter of the event is a professor of the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Italy, a discount of 20% on the hall rent and of 35% on the webcast will be applied.
 
RONZANO & ITS SURROUNDINGS
Remarkable historical and natural areas surround the Center. Hike lovers can enjoy a pedestrian trail that leads from Ronzano to the city center across the Villa Ghigi Park, a large green area on the hills of about 30 hectars, that hosts historical remains and naturalistic and landscape attractions.
