Mission and Objectives of European Genetics Foundation
a) To promote the scientific and professional education of young European geneticists with particular attention to the applications of genetics in the field of preventive medicine
b) To establish and manage a center of excellence for advanced training in the fields of genetics and genomics
c) To publish didactic material, scientific books and periodicals to achieve aims a) and b)
d) To award merit-based fellowships for the study of genetics
e) To promote fund-raising initiatives that will finance research projects as well as the activities of the Foundation
f) To organize structures and programs for the quality control of laboratory tests (mainly of those based on the use of new technologies) amenable to certification of quality control for the benefit of consumers
g) To organize congresses, courses, international prizes and other initiatives promoting communication between the sciences and the humanities
h) To propagate the knowledge arising from genetics research within the general public.
